10 Tips for Buying Rap Beats Online

Buying rap beats online is quickly growing and its great to use the internet to bring talented producers and artists from different parts of the world together. However, like with any game, there are some players who do things right, and others who dont. Weve therefore compiled this simple list of tips for buying rap beats online in order to help aspiring artists out there pick the right website/producers to work with.

We now have four years experience selling rap beats online through our website, www.LaCantinaProductions.com and we hope that these tips will prove useful to you!

1. Music Licenses Understand them

Know the difference between exclusive and non-exclusive licenses. An exclusive license will grant you the exclusive (hence the name) right to use the beats for your projects.

A non-exclusive license will give you the right to use the beat for your musical projects, however the producer retains the right to sell the beat to other artists too.

2. Music Licenses Know which one to buy

Exclusive licenses can be expensive, but essential if youre looking to commercially release an album. If youre however recording a demo or mixtape, a non-exclusive license is fine, however make sure you check with the producer what rights you get as these will vary from site to site.

3. Prices, dont pay too much!

Owners of beat sites often get carried away by their big egos and will charge inflated prices for standard beats.

A rough guideline for prices follows:

Non-Exclusive Licenses - $15 - $50

Exclusive Licenses - $100 - $1000

Of course, the above prices depend on the producers popularity and talent. However, we would not recommend paying more than $1000 for an exclusive license bought online from someone you have never met in person.

4. Websites, only buy from trusted ones

Any proper online business will make sure they have a trustworthy image. Therefore make sure that the site youre buying from has at least one or two of these:

- Full contact details, phone number, email, mailing address

- Privacy Policy

5. Look for trust symbols

On top of the above, the website should also have third party trust symbols. These are certifications from other companies that prove the website is trustworthy and not fraudulent.

Some symbols to look for are:

- BBB Certification

- Paypal Verified

- Shopping reviews

- Hacker Safety Certifications

- Antivirus Safety Certifications

Also make sure these symbols link through to another page that explains what they mean and how the website in question fits the criteria.

6. Email the site and check if they reply

Crazy, but certain beat sites will not bother doing this. Would you want to do business with someone who doesnt care about talking to you?

Also, this will prove that the website is a serious online business with a team of human beings running it properly.

7. Look for testimonials

This is not essential, but its always good if you can see that others have dealt with the site before and have been satisifed with their beats.

8. Avoid producers who only use a Soundclick/MySpace page to sell beats

A domain name costs less than $15 a year, surely its not a good sign if someone doesnt even have the money to buy that and set up their own independent website?

9. Search for the site on Google

This is a quick easy way to check a sites reputation. Do any bad comments show up, or anything else unusual?

10. Is the site alive?

Does anyone update it or is it dead? Were all very busy making beats, but adding some small updates once in a while is within everyones reach. Therefore look for blog posts, new beat uploads and even small updates such as changing the current year noted on the site!

Creating An Effective Online Presence Part Three

This article will be the last in my series on Creating an Effective Online Presence. This article addresses blogs, newsletters, your sales funnel, and joint ventures. This is certainly not meant to be an exhaustive review of each category but rather a quick synopsis of each one.

Blogs

A blog is short for weblog and its in actuality, an online journal. Blogs can be stand alone websites or can be incorporated into your website with its own page.

Creating a blog can be advantageous for a variety of reasons:

* They will improve your standing with search engines as long as you post to them regularly.
* They help your readers get to know you in a more personal way.
* You can use your blog to market your existing products.
* You can use your blog to announce new product offerings.
* Blogs can help you create new information products. As you blog each day, you can actually organize your posts in such a way that you could blog a tip sheet, e-course, article or even a book.

If you want to start a blog, its easy. You dont have to be a web designer or have any particular web expertise. All you need to do is go to www.typepad.com and start using their system. They will take you through the process step by step.

Newsletters or eZines

Having a newsletter or eZine (electronic magazine) is a great way to stay in contact with your clients and potential clients. A newsletter is one of those products you can offer for free to entice casual browsers to give you their name and email address. Some people argue that newsletters are no longer useful but I disagree. While some people are overrun with newsletters that hardly ever get read, for the amount of work it takes to put one together, it is worth the potential audiences you will reach.

One of the things about online marketing that will help you stand out from your competition is over delivering. A newsletter is one way to do that. Use your newsletter to deliver outstanding information to your targeted market that directly addresses their pain or their desires. Giving away great information is another way to build trust on the web.

Sales Funnel

The sales funnel is a metaphor for the way your bring clients to increasingly higher levels of commitment in their buying cycle. The idea is that all your potential clients will enter the mouth of the funnel by agreeing to give you their name and email address. Then, the concept is that you create increasingly more expensive products and attempt to move your customers through your sales funnel progressively by offering them the next product.

The funnel analogy is used because at each level, less of your customer base will pursue your offer until you get down to the skinniest end of the funnel where only a few choice clientele will go.

You must create a progressive line of product offerings that are targeted to your audience both in content and modality. Dont offer teleclasses to a group who historically doesnt purchase teleclasses. Perhaps you will need a CD product instead.

And you will need to draft compelling sales letters for each of the products you offer, which was discussed in part one of this series.

Joint Ventures

The last area I want to talk about may be the most lucrative on the Net, actually. Anytime you can partner with another professional you are increasing your exposure and broadening your client base.

There are many advantages to joint venture partnering:

* You gain access to another persons email list.
* You gain access to another persons expertise.
* You increase the odds of others wanting to partner with you.
* You get to put yourself in front of audiences you wouldnt otherwise have access to.

There are many opportunities for joint venture partnering but the typical one you see is one person promoting another persons book in an attempt to make it a bestseller on a particular day. In addition to the ones who send this notice out to their list, there are other joint venture partners who offer free bonus gifts in exchange for increased, targeted traffic to their sites.

I know I have covered many topics briefly and you may have multitudes of questions. I recommend Michael Ports book, Book Yourself Solid, as an excellent resource to fill in the blanks for you.

Check Out these Cool Batman Gadgets

Batman is unique among other superheroes. Unlike Superman or the Flash, the dark knight does not have super powers such as super strength or super speed. He relies more on his martial arts training and cool gadgets to stop criminals in their tracks. Batman probably uses more gadgets than any other comic book superhero. Batman gadgets play a major role in revealing Batman's adventures, in the original comic strips, on cartoon series, and in feature films.

Batman gadgets have evolved through the years depending on the creativity of artist or the director of a certain batman feature. These gadgets are black and often carry the Batman logo. Batmans popularity make batman merchandise very marketable and toyshops stalls everywhere are filled with Batman action figures, vehicles, and gadgets.

The Batmobile is probably the coolest gadget in Batmans arsenal. Different design have been made but the Batmobile is usually a black high-tech, high speed car with bat like tailfins. In some episodes the Batmobile was even equipped with weapons like grenades and machine guns. Batman uses other vehicles in his crime fighting exploits like the Batboat and the Batcycle.

The Batmobile may be cool, but no other Batman gadget is more useful than the Batman Utility Belt. Its where Batman keeps his portable gadgets and tools like the deadly Batarang. The Batarang is a tailor-made boomerang type of weapon that can be modified to suit every villain. The Batrope on the other hand allows Batman to scale and swing from tall buildings.

Robin, Batmans sidekick also uses gadgets that he and Batman concocted together. They would make state of the art Batman Gadgets in the safety of the Batcave. In the Batcave they were able to devise gadgets such as the Bat Radar, Bat Cuffs, Bat Camera, and even a Bat Spray to keep sharks at bay. The Batcave also houses the BatComputer which allows Batman to solve crime and monitor crime activity in Gotham city. Batmans alter ego, Bruce Wayne, is a multimillionaire and the owner of Wayne Corp. the biggest company in Gotham city. Batman used his money to develop weapons and technology that he needs to fight villains that terrorize Gotham city.

Another reason that Batman used gadgets was his dislike of using firearms. His parents were killed by a gunman making him feel that using firearms makes him no different from them. Batman without his Batman gadgets would be a lot less exciting, crime fighting batman style would be ordinary.
